Rest, Hunger, and the Little Wins – My First Week Check-In

This week marked the start of something sacred, a six-month journey toward becoming the healed, whole, and empowered version of myself. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I committed to showing up with intention, grace, and honesty. This first week taught me so much about my patterns, my needs, and how to truly listen to my body, mind, soul, and finances.
Mind – The Noise & The Need for Re-centering
At the beginning of the week, my mind was racing. Between working, managing responsibilities, and trying to eat right, I noticed how often I overthink or push through discomfort instead of pausing to feel. I realized how important it is to quiet the inner noise, not by ignoring it, but by grounding myself in truth.
Lesson: My mind doesn’t need more pressure, it needs more peace. Whether through journaling or breathing, I’m learning to pause before I panic.
• Mind Wins This Week:
• Journaling my thoughts instead of bottling them
• Limiting social media time to reduce mental clutter
• Listening to motivational content that uplifted my spirit
Body – Rest, Real Food & the Signals I Ignore
Physically, my body gave me the most honest feedback: "I'm tired." I noticed fatigue, cravings, and signs of inflammation, reminders that I can’t just talk about healing; I have to live it. I made some nourishing meals this week, spinach wraps, infused waters, trail mix, and felt proud when I chose hydration over sugar. I also noticed when I needed more fuel or a moment to sit and breathe between deliveries.
Lesson: Hunger isn’t always about food. Sometimes, my body is asking for rest, movement, or stillness.
• Body Wins This Week:
• Drinking more water and trying infused waters with mint, lemon, and cucumber
• Choosing better snacks like nuts, trail mix, and fruit
• Realizing that fatigue is a call for rest, not guilt
Soul – The Power of Prayer, Music, and Gentle Reconnection
This week, I gave my soul space to breathe. I found comfort in spiritual music and motivational messages that reminded me of who I am, a woman healing, rising, and doing the work. I reconnected with God through prayer and stillness. I also allowed myself to cry, to release, and to smile, sometimes all in the same hour.
Lesson: My soul doesn’t need performance, it needs presence. When I slow down and listen, healing begins.
• Soul Wins This Week:
• Morning prayer and quiet time
• Listening to gospel and soul-nurturing music
• Allowing myself to feel without rushing to fix
Finances – Awareness, Not Shame
Financially, I stayed mindful this week. I tracked my spending, paid attention to my food choices, and began thinking about the bigger picture. I reminded myself that every dollar saved, every smart choice, is a seed planted for the future. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m no longer avoiding it.
Lesson: Financial healing begins with honesty. Avoidance costs more than facing the truth.
• Financial Wins This Week:
• Avoiding impulse purchases while grocery shopping
• Cooking more meals at home to save money
• Planning out business ideas that align with my purpose
Final Reflections – A Week of Little Wins
This week wasn’t perfect, and that’s the point. Healing isn’t perfection. It’s showing up with honesty and honoring the shifts, the stumbles, and the small victories. I didn’t give up, even when I felt behind. I learned that resetting is still progress.
• Main Takeaways for You (Dear Reader):
• Don’t ignore your body’s whispers; they become screams.
• Rest is productive.
• Your soul needs permission to just be.
• Financial healing is part of self-love too.
• Celebrate small wins, they’re the foundation of big breakthroughs.
I’m proud of this first week. Not because everything was flawless, but because I kept going. And I’ll keep going.
